Photographers often dabble in different areas of photography to hone their compositional skills. I decided to try my hand at urban landscapes so I got up early (aka stupid o’clock) and headed to the Halifax waterfront to see what I could photograph. I chose early Sunday morning hoping I wouldn’t have to deal with the usual throngs of people that you’ll see here on a typical weekday.
I really like how the golden hour light highlights the stunning architecture in this part of the city! The low angle of the sun also created strong shadows that help give the scene more depth. Mother Nature was also kind enough to add some interesting clouds to the sky. I like how you can see them reflected in the windows on the skyscrapers.
Here’s a taste of what I was able to capture with my trusty Canon R5 camera.
