I love a gnarly tree trunk! This one was exceptionally twisted and made me wonder what might have caused it to be so strange. Some folks mentioned that indigenous people intentionally twisted trees to mark important locations. This was near a quiet bay in a large lake – perhaps a good fishing spot?

I stumbled upon this decaying old tree stump on a hike one afternoon. I imagine it could tell many stories of life in the forest over the decades.

You can’t beat a sunset over the ocean. I really like how the golden hour colours are reflected off the waves.

St Margaret’s Bay

The dappled light from the late afternoon sun gives the forest a nice glow.

Her name is Suzy and she loves tearing through the forest. Not bad for a 12+ year old dog!

Apple blossoms get all the attention in springtime but maple tree blossoms are also very pretty, especially when covered in dewdrops.

A small bouquet of forget-me-not flowers after a rainfall.

His name is Liam but his nickname is #lazyasscat. He’s made it his life’s work to shred every spindle on our deck.
