Last month’s star attraction was still hanging around our yard in October, happily munching away in the treetops. Gotta love that smile!
Suzy stopped by the lake to rehydrate and to admire her reflection. One of my favourite photos of our little lady.
I wanted to capture a zoomed-in view of this colourful scene as the leaves were beginning their transition from green to fall colours. I like how the grey of the tree trunks adds nice contrast to the vibrant colours of the leaves.
No, it’s not a strange AI image, just a neat view of colourful trees reflected in the calm lake. The dark boulders really stand out against the bright red of the leaves.
Cool autumn mornings create gorgeous mist over the lakes, adding an ethereal quality to an image. A number of people on Facebook commented that they thought the rocks resemble a large turtle.
It was a beautiful calm morning at the lake when I captured this image. The sun was just beginning to light up the trees and mist across the lake. Within a few minutes the mist was gone and a light breeze wiped away the reflection.
Another image captured on the same morning as the previous one. A Facebook follower called it “reflection perfection”.
One of my favourite things to shoot in the forest – a sunstar peeking around a tree trunk. Backlight makes everything look so much more vibrant!
I love how white birch tree trunks stand out against the colourful leaves!
Another cool, misty fall morning. I shot this with a long zoom lens to narrow in on the backlit evergreen trees with the dark forest behind. The red bushes add a nice pop of colour. I just love a backlit scene!
Round Lake is one of my favourite places, especially in autumn. The clouds this evening were amazing! The scene looks like something from a sci fi show depicting a tear in the fabric of space.
Another image taken on the same evening as the previous one. This is a panorama shot I took to try to show the full extent of the incredible sky. It was an amazing experience to be there as this scene was unfolding!
