Here are some of the most popular images from my Facebook Page for the month of June.

I call this one “elbows up” in recognition of Canada’s resistance to becoming anyone’s 51st state. It’s a red-winged blackbird I captured near Little Indian Lake in Upper Tantallon.

A tree swallow giving me the stink eye from his perch on a bullrush. I shot this at Miners Marsh in Kentville.

This female mallard duck was quite happy to pose for a few portrait shots. I found her waddling along in the shallows at Long Lake Provincial Park in Halifax.

I wondered why this Bald Eagle was sitting atop a power pole when I noticed that there was a river beneath his perch. It was likely waiting to snag an unsuspecting fish for dinner. Location – along Hiking Trail Road near Upper Tantallon.

Fern fiddleheads waking up from winter’s sleep. Captured at Long Lake Provincial Park in Halifax.

I LOVE LUPINS! I love their shape, their colours and the fact that they seem to be able to grow anywhere the sun shines. I spotted these beside the road near Cleveland Beach Provincial Park.

When the sun shines a spotlight on a tiny tree in the forest you have to take the shot! A baby spruce tree somewhere in the woods west of Upper Tantallon.

She loves me, she loves me not… A beautiful patch of daisies spotted alongside the St. Margaret’s Bay rail trail.

Ferns are one of my favourite plants. They’re among the oldest plants on earth, they come in a variety of shapes and sizes and they grow anywhere – bright sun or shady forest. These were spotted on the side of a hill at Polly’s Cove. The evening sun really brings out their yellow-green colour!

The sun takes one last peek before slipping below the horizon. Location – Sandy Lake, Upper Tantallon.

35 mm, f/11, 1/60 sec, ISO 100

Liam the lazyasscat doing what lazyasscats do best. He LOVES his driftwood pillow!
