Here are some of the most popular images from my Facebook Page for the month of May. Mostly landscapes, a few flowers, a bird and even a cat for good measure. Enjoy!

Many people were unaware that maple trees produce lovely little flowers before they begin growing new leaves. Just look at that amazing blossom!

I love seeing trees growing in challenging locations, like this little fir tree that’s perched on top of a granite boulder.

My buddy Kevin suggested that we take a spin over to the Annapolis Valley to check out the blooming trees. I’m happy he did! The next 5 photos were all captured on that trip.

The back lighting gives this scene an ethereal quality that I just love! I also like how the old house is just peeking out from the lower corner adding a bit of mystery about why it’s there.

Kevin was driving along the Gaspereau River Road when I hollered “STOP!” I just HAD to grab a shot of these trees and their reflections in the pond. The late afternoon sunlight was perfect for this scene.

We arrived at Grand Pre National Historic Site just as the sun was setting. We ran around trying different compositions to see if we could capture the beauty of the location with that incredible sky as a backdrop. The next 3 images are my favourites.

A beautiful iridescent blue tree swallow perched on a nesting box at Miners Marsh in Kentville.

I spotted this tree across the pond at Miners Marsh and I swear I heard it yell “TAKE MY PICTURE!” So I did. I like how the fog in the background helps it stand out from the trees in the distance.

A foggy morning at the Government Wharf in Boutilier’s Point. I used the tree branches to help frame the wharf as the sky was a solid wall of grey fog.

One of the best things about a walk in the forest in springtime is stumbling upon wildflowers as they bloom amid the greenery on the forest floor. Here are a couple I recently found on a nearby hiking trail.
