Here are some of the most popular images from my Facebook Page for the month of April. We went from snow to sun as the days passed. This month’s photos include wildlife, birds, a few landscape shots and even a photo of one of my cats. Enjoy!

We had a late winter snowstorm after the crocus flowers had popped up so I took advantage of the opportunity to capture a photo of these hardy little plants. I love the contrast between the fresh new vegetation and the cold white snow! It sums up April in Nova Scotia in one image.

A snowshoe hare dropped by to nibble on our shrubs and wish us a Happy Easter. Look at those ears!

I was driving a back country road with my buddy Gordon when we spotted this old house. I really like the contrast between the dilapidated house and the stately trees. The diagonal clouds almost seem to divide the scene between the house and the trees. It’s one of my all time favourite black and white images!

I was quietly sitting on the ground waiting to shoot redwings blackbirds when this ring-necked pheasant came strutting along the path toward me. He was quite the specimen and he knew it! He eventually lost interest in me and wandered off into the tall grass.

You know spring has officially arrived when the robins return from their winter vacation. This fellow was happy to pose for a portrait shot from our front deck.

I was driving along our street one day when I spotted this bald eagle perched atop a spruce tree. I grabbed my camera and fired off a few quick shots before he grew tired of me and flew off. Just look at that majestic pose!

A red squirrel carefully hangs on to his peanut as I grab a pic from my back door step. He looks like he expects me to grab the peanut that I just gave him. I guess you can’t trust photographers.

We had a ton of rain in late April so I headed to Fox Hollow to shoot one of my favourite brooks and get some flowing water images. Fortunately I remembered to take along my rubber boots so I could wade in and capture the mossy rocks up close and personal.

Another view of Fox Hollow Brook from the side. I just love that rushing water!

I don’t know who belongs to those paw prints but I’m guessing that he/ she had a fun time at the beach in spite of the dreary conditions!

Queen Thelma demonstrates how to enjoy the sunshine in spring. It’s hard to believe that we had snow on the ground just a few weeks before I took this photo!
