Here are some of the most popular images from my Facebook Page for the month of November. Lots of waves, some fall colours, a chickadee and even a dragonfly make up this month’s favourites. Enjoy!

A chickadee gives me the “stink eye” as it waits impatiently for me to take the shot so it can grab a sunflower seed from the nearby feeder. I love the sound their wings make as they flutter about.

I was driving home after a sunset photo shoot at Peggy’s Cove when I saw this. I immediately pulled over and grabbed my camera. I just LOVE that sky!

There was a November storm off the coast so I headed to Peggy’s Cove with my buddy Kevin in the hopes of grabbing some epic wave shots. It was a dull, overcast day but the sun peeked out briefly just as this wave was heading past. Woohoo!

The iconic Peggy’s Cove lighthouse with some wild wave action. I hadn’t even noticed the gull superimposed over the breaking wave until I got home and looked at my images on my computer. Bonus!

I zoomed in on the reef near the Peggy’s Cove lighthouse in the hopes of catching a nice wave. King Neptune didn’t disappoint!

If you get up early in November you can sometimes capture frost on the vegetation. It doesn’t last very long once the sun rises. This was captured in a marsh alongside Cranberry Lake in Hubley.

I’ve been hoping to capture a shot of this tamarack/ larch tree for a number of years but I’ve either been too early (green) or too late (needles shed). I timed it right this year and caught it in full orange glory! The tree is located about midway along Cranberry Lake in Hubley so I had to use a super zoom lens to get in close.

I noticed this dragonfly warming itself on a rock as I was walking past. It was kind enough to remain motionless while I captured a few images. I love how the backlighting really highlights the red colour. And just look at those compound eyes!

I was walking my dog Suzy at a local park late one afternoon when I noticed the setting sun lighting up the trees across the lake. You can see that the bottoms of the trees are already in shade as the sun was quickly going below the horizon. I love how the yellow/orange colours are accentuated by the golden light from the setting sun.

The bright birch tree trunks really stand out now that their leaves have dropped. Captured along the St Margaret’s Bay rail trail.

More golden colours as tamarack/ larch trees change before shedding their needles. Located alongside the St Margaret’s Bay rail trail.

Remember Venn diagrams from high school math class? This may be where John Venn got his inspiration for intersecting circles. I captured this at Conrad’s Beach on a breezy November morning.
